01. About Me

Hello! I'm Russell, a Technical Support Engineer based in Houston, TX with a B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Houston (December 2024).

I thrive at the intersection of customer-facing support and deep technical problem-solving — digging into backend systems, untangling complex issues, and making sure customers actually get their problems resolved. At Stellar Cyber, that means Kubernetes, Linux, and security platform troubleshooting on a daily basis.

But I'm also a builder at heart. I can't sit still when there's a recurring problem a script could fix or a workflow a tool could streamline. Whether it's a Bash CLI framework for my support team, a SaaS platform for racket sports shops, or Discord bots running on a home server — I find just as much satisfaction in building the fix as I do in diagnosing the problem.

02. Experience

Technical Support Engineer @ Stellar Cyber

March 2024 - Present

  • Triage and resolve customer issues spanning the full platform — log ingestion, parsing, alerting pipelines, licensing, tenant management, and automation rules — using Kubernetes and Linux-level access to investigate backend environments, and coordinating live customer sessions for SSH-assisted troubleshooting, feature alignment, and issue reproduction
  • Troubleshoot connector and log forwarding ingestion failures — advising on sensor configuration, parser behavior, and network/protocol issues — and escalate bugs, parser requests, and connector enhancements to engineering and the product team
  • Designed and built Project Orion, a modular Bash CLI framework that loads Python/Bash diagnostic scripts from remote sources (GitHub Gists) with category navigation, search, and pagination — streamlining recurring troubleshooting workflows across distributed customer environments

Customer Success & Operations @ Houston Badminton Academy

July 2020 - April 2026

  • Served as primary customer support contact for 100–300+ members across 3 locations, troubleshooting membership configuration errors and booking issues in the Clubworx mobile app — identifying root causes in membership setup rather than app-level bugs
  • Managed membership lifecycle operations including class scheduling, billing, invoicing, and court reservations; generated financial and enrollment reports tracking active, suspended, and canceling members
  • Resolved complex edge cases involving makeup class expiration, paid period mismatches, and booking rule conflicts
